It was cool and overcast Friday morning. It had rained
overnight but stopped by the time the alarm went off. So, I drove to work
in yet another gloomy, dreary day.
I was downloading a couple of security patches when the
power went out in our building. It came back up in a couple of minutes, but my
computer wouldn’t start.
The tech checked it out and said the hard drive had bad
sectors from the abrupt shutdown while downloading. So, they gave me a laptop to
use while they tried to repair it.

I sat there and twiddled my thumbs when not using the stupid
laptop while they tried to repair my hard drive (which they pulled from the
case…)
I finally got the computer back and up running at 2:00 p.m.
I finished out the day and then headed home. It was raining
by then.
Once home, I ran through the routine. I then went on the
computer to make out this weekend’s ToDo list, shopping lists and so on. I
played the Bob Seger “Face the Promise” album while I worked.

I ate the last (thank God) of the brats and sauerkraut for
dinner, then took the rest of the night off.
