I woke up to the alarm on Tuesday, which interrupted a
really nice dream… (Don’t ask!)
I got ready for work and then (finally) took out the trash
can to the road. There was no wind, then.
It was warm and muggy, BTW. I walked outside at 10:00 p.m.,
but I didn’t like it.
At lunchtime, I went to Newburgh Grill and got that special:
a Gyro and a cup of soup. I picked the Tuesday-only soup: the ham and bean (I
love that sh*t!).
Sidebar: This was the first time, EVER that, after I tasted
the soup, I added some salt. WTF? New cook? New recipe? I dunno…
Second Sidebar: I think it was either Thomas Edison or Henry
Ford who said he never trusted a man who salted his food before he tasted it.
As you know, I am a salt freak, but I always try it, first.
Then I drove to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
I went through a lot of boots, but finally decided on the
Timberland Chocorua Trail ones. The nice part is that they have mesh vents (and
my feet get hot in boots) but have Goretex and are 100% waterproof. The bad
part is that they cost $10.60 US more than the gift card I had as an in-store
credit. But, I bit the bullet and bought them.
I walked outside at 3:00 p.m., but dark clouds were rolling
in. I marked the cars with windows and/or sunroofs open and went inside to warm
the owners. I especially warmed Joe P. who is walking around with a brace on
his leg. I figured he couldn’t “run” out and shut his sunroof.
The storm blew in and hit hard. The UPS driver, Pete, came in
dripping wet and asked me my route home. I told him, “Plymouth Road.” He said, “Forget
about it! It’s backed up from I-275 to Telegraph Road.”
Great!
So, I took Levan to Five Mile Road and that over to Inkster.
Traffic was about the same as when I drove that way home from working up in
Farmington. I realized why: No trucks! Then it dawned on me that there is no
way to get on I-275 from Five Mile, so long-haul truckers can’t use it.
Unfortunately, this information came too little, too late,
since they are going to tear down the Inkster overpass in a day or too.
I stopped at CVS to pick up that prescription I dropped off
Saturday and still got home at the same time I usually do.
I took in the trash can (it was only sprinkling by then) and
went inside. An hour later, the sun was shining brightly!
I ate a section of onion sausage I had grilled on Saturday
but forgot to mention. I ate it with Dijon mustard and two ears of sweet corn.
Yumo!
Sidebar for my Brother Carl: Did you ever try that onion
sausage yet? If so, how’d you like it?
I went to bed after NCIS L.A.

Did you test fit the boots to the bike?
ReplyDeleteYes let's talk about your boots please. No, haven't tried it...had company for a while and was waiting to try after they left. Will try this week!! Thanks
ReplyDelete@ Jake: Sorta. I compared the height of them with the dress Cros I was wearing and they were about 1/2 inch taller (versus the 1-inch height of the steel-toed boots). When I got home, I tried them and it seemed okay. But, I learned my lesson. If I have to take them back, I'll wipe the damn things off.
ReplyDelete@ GPF: I wasn't rushing you, just wondered. Found out they are great grilled, too!
IF THE BOOTS FIT....YOU MUST ACQUIT!
ReplyDelete@ Anon: Are you really Johnnie Cochran?
