Friday was cool (which I like) but cloudy with occasional
showers or drizzling. It wasn’t miserable, but it was close.
I went to Time Out for lunch and had a mushroom and Swiss
burger (with Dijon mustard) and chicken noodle soup. This will be the last time
for a while as they are beginning their annual two week vacation shut-down. I
asked Dan, the owner, what the hell I was supposed to do? Starve?
Back home after work, I discovered the Caley had left a
hairball on the bedspread. So, grumbling, I started the weekend wash.
I spent a while on the computer. It was pay day, so I had to
balance my check register, pay the few bills that aren’t on auto-pay, etc. Next,
I started making out my grocery shopping and errand lists.
Then it was time for dinner. Now, I hadn’t taken anything
out, but I was recently given a secret recipe for chili macaroni. Now, I can’t
tell you what I did (it’s a secret, remember?) In fact, it’s so secret that I
can’t even show you pictures of the finished dish!
But, trust me it was great. Unfortunately, I was missing
some of the spices, so it wasn’t as “hot” as it was supposed to be. I still ate
way too much. Then I started worrying about what might happen when this got
into my digestive tract. Poor Caley! On the other hand, I owe her one for that
hair ball!
I remade the bed and watched a 1952 pirate movie, “Against
all Flags” starring Errol Flynn and Maureen O'Hara and Anthony Quinn. Then I
read until bedtime.
