It was supposed to get down into the 50’s overnight and no
rain, so I opened the bedroom and kitchen windows before going to bed Wednesday
night. I woke up Thursday morning (after a good night’s sleep) without the
usual A/C stuffed up nose.
When I was doing the Wednesday night wash, I noticed how really
crappy my tee shirts were becoming. So, at lunch today, I went to Newburgh
Grill first. I got a cup of beef vegetable soup and a barbecued chicken breast
sandwich. That was a mistake. After eating at Famous Dave’s the day before, the
Coney Island version of “barbecue” was a little pathetic.
Then I went back to Meijer’s in Westland and got six tee
shirts and some new brown socks.
The weather was partly cloudy and 75 degrees at noon, BTW.
I left my truck windows down, but watched for a stray shower. But, it
never did rain.
After work, I changed clothes and then opened up the new tee
shirts. They went into the washer, along with my bathrobe, the white towel and
washcloth. The dark socks went into the laundry basket. I changed clothes and went back out in the garage. More sanding and
carving took up the next two hours.
Back inside for the night, I showered to get the sawdust off
me. I threw the tee shirt load into the dryer and then sat on the bed for a
bit. I took all my old white tee shirts and cut them up for rags.
It was after 8:00 p.m. and I was hungry, so I warmed up some
onion sausage and the last of the sweet corn.
I watched taped TV until bedtime.
