Monday started out like every other day so far down here. It was hot and sticky and we had errands to run. Well, Carla and I ran errands as Jake went to work.
We went to the Petsmart, then the Columbia Mall, and headed
back near home. We went to breakfast, then a bookstore (I ran out of reading
material) and finally Home Depot. It rained off and on, but not hard. We got
back home about 2:00 p.m.
Carla unpacked groceries while I did a load of laundry. Then
I took a nap.
Carla woke me up at 4:00 so I could start making my mac
& cheese. Now, here’s an interesting thing. You know how much I b*tch about
making mac & cheese, right?
Well, I found out that its not “making” the mac &
cheese, per se. It’s making it alone!
You try straining five cups of infused milk into a big enough
bowl, then slowly adding the milk into a light roux with one hand while
constantly whisking with the other. Not easy, Ace!
But Carla insisted on
helping and I finally gave in. Who am I to blow against the wind? And it was
much, much easier!
By the time that was in the oven, Jake had returned and
Carla started making fried chicken wings. She also steamed some broccoli in the
microwave.
We sat down to an excellent dinner! I had seconds, which
prevented me from enjoying another round of banana cheesecake for dessert. But
it was worth it!
We ended the evening by watching a documentary called “The
Thin Blue Line.”
I read in bed for almost two hours and then went to sleep.
Now that you have a souse chef, sounds like your never coming home!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your stay....however, your area from Canton up, got between 3 and 5 inches of rain yesterday, and rain is in the forecast for today!! Thank God you don't have a basement.....
Hmmm... I wonder if Caley can swim?
ReplyDeleteOver 14 feet of water on the freeway (94), up to the overpasses with 20 odd cars/trucks/vans completely submerged
