Sad Friday

Sure, it was finally Friday and payday as well, but it was a sad day as well. Friday was my cube-buddy Michelle’s last day.

We had her and Lafel’s farewell luncheon at Buddy’s, which is more or less traditional for the IT Department. It is also annoying to me. You reserve 35 seats, but they only give you one waitress. By the time she gets everybody’s drink order, it takes 15 minutes. And, it only gets worse ordering the food and trying to pay your bill.

Sidebar: The food is excellent, but I was in a grumpy mood, I guess.

Vicky and I gave Lafel his present in their building and then Michelle in ours. Lafel seemed genuinely surprised and pleased. Michelle cried a lot, but liked hers as well.

Saying goodbye at 5:00 p.m. was difficult. I am going to miss her. Where am I going to get my Tupperware from? And, just this year alone, her husband Scott has fixed both my furnace and my air conditioner!

I hate change…

I ate leftover spaghetti for dinner, paid some bills online and went to bed around 9:30 p.m.
