It was a little warmer on Thursday and there was a nice
breeze, so my outside walks were pleasant.
I went to the Newburgh Grill for lunch and had a gyro and
the beef vegetable soup. Then I walked down the strip mall to CVS and bought a
few books.
After work, the skies looked a little ominous, but it wasn’t
raining! So, I treated Caley and changed clothes quickly.
I went out and got some dirt from the pile. I loaded that
into the wheelbarrow and then went to the first hostas. I dug out a good chunk.
I put the chunk inside a Westborn bag, watered it and tied it as best I could.
I put that into the truck bed. Then I filled in the hole with the dirt and
watered that.
I repeated that four more times.
Then I took a bag of mulch and opened it into the wheelbarrow.
I visited each divided hostas, covered the dirt with a good helping of mulch
and watered that.
Mission accomplished.
Back inside, I started dinner. I quartered the remaining
Yukon Gold potatoes and put them in the Dutch oven. I covered them with a bag
of sauerkraut. I topped that with a cut-up ring of kielbasa. I brought it to a
boil, turned it to simmer and put the lid on it.
About 20 minutes later, I plated an excellent, hearty
dinner.
I watched some TV but went to bed by 10:00 p.m. By that
time, the Dutch oven was cool, so I stuck that into the fridge.
