Monday was the first day I-96 was open. I went into work on
Plymouth Road (as I normally do in the morning) and was pleasantly surprised.
There were clumps of 5-10 cars here and there, but no long lines at each
stoplight and no streams of big rigs! Wonderful!!!
A no-stress drive into work is the best way to start the
day.
It was a partly cloudy, cool day in Southeast Michigan, BTW.
Fall officially began around 10:00 p.m., putting an end to a really crappy summer.
I took the new expressway home at 5:00 p.m. Not only is it a
pristine surface, but all the on and off ramps have been redesigned. They are
much longer with a gentler slope. Nice.
Sidebar: I think that's the first time I’ve had the truck over
40 mph in six months!
Back home, I treated the cat, changed clothes and then
assembled the garbage for Tuesday morning. I watched the nightly news and then
made a couple of calls.
I warmed up the eggplant Parmesan and more of that spaghetti
for dinner.
I watched a couple of taped shows and then went to bed at
10:00 p.m.
