Okay, I know I sound redundant, but the weather was about
the same again. It may have been a little breezier and a degree or two higher,
but same-same. I love it!
I went to Time Out at lunch and got a ham salad wrap. It’s
been a long time since I had ham salad. It was pretty good.
I had hoped to spray herbicide on the driveway after work,
but it was a tad too windy. I wasn’t going to risk it. It took way too long to
get my grass back!
But, I did go out to the shed and got the pump sprayer. With
this long stretch of good weather, I should eventually get the chance.
I also walked out and set up the game trail camera in a new
location.
Back inside, I started the Wednesday wash. Then I started
dinner. Now, I realize with this kind of weather, I should be grilling
something, but this meal was planned when it was still fall here (last week).
So, I took eight of the smallest baby Yukon Gold potatoes and
cut each in half. I threw them in the Dutch oven. I covered them with a bag of
sauerkraut. I topped that with a rope of Kowalski kielbasa, cut into two-inch lengths.
I brought that to a boil and them let it simmer for an hour or so.
I watched the news until it ended and then switched to my
book and the porch rocker. I checked every now and then and, when the potatoes
were fork-tender, I plated my supper.
Fantastic!
I watched the taped first episode of this season’s NCIS. I was annoyed, though. I thought it all started next week, so I
missed taping the new spin-off series, NCIS New Orleans.
When it finished, I watched the taped first episode of this
season’s Big Bang Theory. I try to slip in quirky comedy shows now and then to
keep me sane. It hasn’t worked, but it’s a good concept. I must admit, I had
also started watching Garfunkel and Oates.
I read until bedtime.
Before I let you go, did I ever tell you about my niece,
Mary? She’s a lovely woman, great husband and two fantastic children. She does
occasionally have moles in her yard, but otherwise, she seems to be doing fine.
Just thought I’d mention that…
Mary has moles.....oh no
ReplyDelete@ GPF: I know... There's always something to spoil the perfect life. But, on the plus side, she has a gorgeous pool that neither of us has been invited to swim in...
