Tuesday’s Tale

Okay, so now that it is fall, the weather has turned summer-like! It was sunny and warmed up to 73 degrees. Other than getting warmer by a degree or two each day, it’s supposed to stay like this for the next week! Mother Nature is a contrary goddess.

I went to the Newburgh Grill for lunch. They said the bean with ham soup needed about another hour of simmering, so I got a grilled ham and cheese with a side salad.

I took a ride through Hines Park after eating and was not that surprised to see many of the trees are turning colors. I was going to take some pictures, but realized I do that every year and they are probably the same trees!

The afternoon dragged on even worse than normal as Courtney has been off sick both Monday and today. Her son brought home a cold from daycare and gave it to her as a present! So, I had nobody to chat with.

When I got home, I brought in the trash can and then treated Caley. I changed clothes and went outside. I sat in the rocker on the front porch and read my book. It was too nice to stay inside!

The kids across the street were playing catch with a football. Whoever had it threw it into a crowd of kids. Then that kid got to throw it. I noticed that one of the tall kids who routinely caught it would then hand it to one of the other little kids so they could throw it. Nice!

Back inside, I watched the last 15 minutes of the nightly news. Then I made a quick dinner.

If you remember, I bought a variety of lunch meats for that sandwich ring thing. I froze the remaining meat. So, on Saturday, I got out the hard salami and, on a whim, the pepperoni.

So, tonight, I took out two Boboli mini pizza crusts and put them on a half sheet tray. I spread some bottled pizza sauce on them and topped that with four slices of pepperoni. Finally I put on a good helping of shredded mozzarella cheese. I popped them into a preheated 450 degrees oven and baked them for 8-10 minutes. I let them cool a bit and then cut each one into four slices.

I ate five slices watching Jeopardy. They were pretty good for a quick meal!

I gave up on TV and read in the living room and then in my bed until 11:30 p.m.
