It was still warm on Tuesday morning. I took the trash can
out to the road and headed into work early.
I took in my waffle iron. Courtney had seen something on the
Internet she wanted to try but they don’t own one. She brought in a roll of
Pillsbury Cinnamon buns
We fired up the waffle iron and, when it was ready, Courtney
put two uncooked buns on it (we later decided you could have done four, but she
didn’t know how much the dough would spread). Two minutes later, they were
done. She spread a little of the frosting that comes in the tube (she kept the can of frosting on top of the waffle iron to melt it a little). She cut each
one into fours (so there would be enough to go around) and we taste-tested
them. Then we had people coming into work taste them when they showed up.
Delicious! All of the flavor of regular cinnamon buns, plus
a unique, crunchy texture from the waffle iron. Everyone who tried them loved
them. Plus, the office smelled delicious!
I let her borrow the waffle iron (I haven’t used it in a
couple of years) so she could make some for her husband, Mike. She took a
picture for her Facebook page and I stole it for the Blog.
It started raining about 8:30 a.m., accompanied by thunder
and lightning.
I went to the Newburgh Grill and got some bean with ham soup
and a patty melt for lunch. It was still raining, but not as hard as earlier.
The rain had stopped by the time my afternoon walk was
scheduled. But the wind had picked up and the temperature was dropping.
When I got home after work, I retrieved the trash can,
treated Caley and went out back. I was scouting out alternative Game Trail
camera locations. I finally decided on the trunk of one of the mature arbor
vitae.
But there was a problem (of course). Some of the low branches
would trigger it in the wind. So I went and got the loppers and cut off the
problem branches. Then I attached the camera, aiming it towards just west of
the raised bed herb garden. I am hoping to avoid the many, (MANY) videos of
squirrels and birds by the feeders I had been getting.
Back inside, I watched the rest of the Nightly News, after I
realized the bulb auger would be useless tonight. It rained hard here and you
can’t dig with an auger in mud.
For dinner, I warmed up some of the pasta with bacon from
the weekend. I topped it with grated Parmesan cheese. It was still excellent,
even after being refrigerated.
I watched NCIS live, then shut the TV off and read until
bedtime.

ReplyDeleteFeel free to stick it up north. I’d like to see what the wolf-hunting debate is about.
No after pics? You weren't food porn supervising very well...
ReplyDelete@ Jyl: No, I meant on my lot. The wolf hunting debate is above my pay grade.
ReplyDelete@ Jake: You are correct, sir! I was too busy tasting and didn't even think about pictures until after Courtney posted hers.
I have the website that inspired her and will post two pictures from it.
