I woke up at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday. I couldn’t fall back
asleep, so I read until I heard Jake and Carla moving around.
They had taken care of most things the night before, so it
was only a little last minute car-loading, quick cups of coffee and they were
on the road, heading home.
Jake did take my trash can out to the road before he left,
which I appreciated.
Sidebar: Thanks again for coming and all your help!!!
It was warm outside (67 degrees when they pulled out) but it
started raining here around 9:00 a.m. and rained off and on all day.
Vicky sent me a text, saying she had forgotten her lunch at
home. So, she rode with me to the Newburgh Grill. She had some sort of
breakfast skillet and I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I went to the
restroom after eating and when I came back, she had paid for my lunch! I tried
to pay her back, but there is no arguing with that woman. Thanks!!!
It rained harder in the afternoon. There was some sort of
problem on I-96 (it was stopped dead) so I didn’t get on. I drove surface
streets back home, along with everybody else. I didn’t get there until almost
5:30 p.m. After six month with no expressway, you would think I would be used
to it, but it p*ssed me off!
I got the trashcan inside. The puddles in the driveway were
building up and I realized the fallen leaves were blocking the normal flow to
the ditch. So, I got the rake and cleared them out of the way.
I started the weekend laundry and paid some bills online. I
ate a big piece of quiche for dinner. The rain was coming down so hard at that
point you could hear it in the house.
I watched NCIS live until 9:00 p.m. Caley was annoying (she’d
been “needy” since I came home) and the house seemed too quiet, so I went to
bed.
Thank you for having us! We had a great time!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! You're always welcome (unless you want to play Scrabble!)
ReplyDeleteaww... come on!
ReplyDelete@ Jake: Don't even go there. We all know you're the Scrabble god and bow down to you. Don't milk it, okay?
