I woke up with the alarm on Friday morning. When I walked
into the bathroom, I saw the full moon, perfectly framed by the trees in my
backyard. Wisps of clouds scudded over its face. It was beautiful!
But, by the time I left for work, the clouds were thickening
and the moon was covered (or had set).
I went in early to pay some bills online as it was payday.
But, the internet connection was down! So, I did work work until people started
showing up.
Despite my assurances that she didn’t need to do it, Vicky
wanted to buy my lunch. She had “forgotten” her purse at Michelle’s lunch, so I
bought hers then. So, I took her to Gabriel’s.
We each got the cheesesteak hoagie, but she added chips. They didn’t have
water, so I got a small Dr. Pepper (I’m not much of a soda drinker). Vicky
ordered a “half and half.” I asked her what the hell that was. She said its
half iced tea and half lemonade! Never heard of it before, but I’ll try it next
time. Sounds good.
Sidebar: Remember me saying I would try the peppers “next
time?” Well, I asked what kind of peppers they were and the girl said unseeded
jalapenos. She also said they were “kinda hot.” So, I passed, but Vicky got
them on the side and added them sparingly to her hoagie.
The afternoon passed slowly as they all do. It did finally
get sunny, but it never got warm.
When I got home, I found that Caley had barfed on the bedspread.
So, after treating her and changing clothes, I washed it. That didn’t seem to
be such a big deal with the old bedspread, but this one is much bigger and
thicker. So, it has to be washed alone and it takes two cycles in the dryer
before it’s actually dry.
I didn’t want to do it, but I think I’m gonna start shutting
the bedroom door before I leave for work.
I did my online work while listening to the nightly news.
Then I cooked a pound of thick spaghetti and warmed up a container of the meat
sauce I’d made and frozen a while back. I ate dinner and then I started
watching the hockey game. We won 4 to 2!!!
When it was done, so was I and I went to bed.
Weird about the peppers. They used to have pickled cherry peppers they'd add. Still. They are some great cheese steaks. Did your guest enjoy it?
ReplyDeleteI thought the peppers would be like banana peppers or poblanos, something with a little kick, but not deadly.
ReplyDeleteShe loved it.You have once again added new converts to the local cuisine!
