Hump Day

I’m not going to even mention temperature or wind chill on Wednesday. Apparently, it’s almost country-wide.

When I ordered the Weather-Tech floor mats, I asked that they deliver them to work since, near Christmas, people steal deliveries off people’s porches. Well, they showed up today (way early) around 9:00 a.m. But, perfect timing!!! So, Courtney and I opened them (with great difficulty).

Before we took them all the way out of the packaging, I took a photo for you.

And, instead of a long walk, I went out to install them. Two things: One, they had the holes for the attachment pegs (or whatever) right, but not drilled out. So, I had to cut them out with a razor knife (and it wasn’t pretty). And, two, that whole computer/laser thing was off. I had to cut a two-inch by two-inch chunk off the driver’s side mat to make it fit. But, they’re installed and look like they’ll keep the salt off the carpet.

It started seriously snowing here around 10:30 a.m.

So, at lunchtime, I put the truck in four-wheel drive and made my way to Time Out. I had possibly the best lemon chicken and rice soup I ever tasted (Bob has a damn gift with soup!!!) and a mushroom-Swiss burger (with my Dijon mustard).

Then I crawled back in four-wheel  drive to work.

The snow came and went all afternoon. About 4:00 p.m. they started plowing the driveways at work. I left at 5:00 and the only time I had the truck in two-wheel drive was on I-96, which was salted and wet.

When I got home after work, I treated the cat, changed clothes and started the Wednesday night wash.

I watched the news and/or played on the computer until 8:00 p.m. Then I went and got dinner. I took the rest of the lettuce and sweet onion mix, added some diced ham and topped it with a hard-boiled egg.

I dressed it with bottled blue cheese dressing and had a great salad for supper.

I watched taped TV shows for a while then switched to reading until bedtime.

  1. Glad you got your mats! What is funny is that mine came with those mats and I never get snow here!

  2. LOL! Well, I actually wanted the "tray" but they didn't make them for my truck. But these seem to be working fine.

  3. I went for the mats with my car up there, as the tray was considerably more expensive, and the mats worked just fine. Plus, I think they're probably easier to clean.
