It was cold and damp on Thursday with occasional wet snow.
It was the Christmas luncheon day for the other department in our building, so
I helped Kelly (the receptionist) set up some tables and got them a power strip
for crock pots.
I did go out to lunch at Time Out, but only so I could wish
the waitresses who work that day a Merry Christmas. Knowing there would be a
ton of leftovers, I just had a bowl of soup.
Then I went to Kohl’s. I had been looking for a new
suitcase. If you remember, I threw away my old one and the one up in the attic
I thought I could use will not work. Kohl’s had a half-off sale on their
luggage, so I went and grabbed a nice one. The checkout lines weren’t as bad as
I feared, BTW.
Back at work, I made up a plate of chicken fingers with
ranch sauce, cheese potatoes and some meatballs. It was all good and the
chicken was excellent! I went back and tasted a variety of other foods,
including homemade Scotch eggs (first time for me and delicious.)
Back home after work, I sent Carla the information I’d
promised to send yesterday (my bad), changed clothes and got to work. I rubbed
the computer table with steel wool and then wiped it down with a damp rag.
The other project did not take the stain in a few spots (I’m
guessing some glue I missed) so I ended up re-sanding most of it. I wiped it
off and re-stained it. Looked much better! I brought that into the kitchen so
it would dry better.
Then I put the last coat of poly on the computer table. I
went out and washed my arms with mineral spirits and then washed them again
with soap and water.
It was 8:30 p.m., so I quit for the night. I heated up some
of Courtney’s turkey and rice soup (she gave me another container as they are
leaving for the holidays and need to use it up). I ate it with some saltine
crackers. It was an excellent dinner, but I wished I’d grabbed some of that focaccia
(sp) bread at work.
Then I went to bed.
I will forgive you this time, but don't let it happen again :) Or you'll get the back of my hand!
ReplyDeleteeasy Carla....he's old
ReplyDeletewhat the heck are "Scotch eggs" ?
@ GPF: Thank you. I fear the wrath of Carla!
ReplyDeleteScotch eggs (as I just learned) are hard-boiled eggs, covered with a layer of pork sausage (and maybe bread crumbs - I couldn't tell) and then baked. At least that's how the guy at work made them. Sliced thin, they were delicious!
sounds interesting....
ReplyDeleteThey were tasty.
