The weekend’s welcome thaw was had come to an abrupt end by
Monday morning! It was cold, dreary and windy.
I went to the Newburgh Grill at lunch and got a cup of beef vegetable
soup and a pattie melt. I decided afterwards I should ordered a bowl of soup
and skipped the pattie melt. Then I went to Lowe’s and got more jig saw blades.
I got home after work and got inside. I swear it was colder
at 5:00 p.m. than it was at 7:00 a.m.!
I changed clothes and started watching the news. At 6:30
p.m., I called my friend Leon to wish him a happy birthday. He said he was
doing fine and he sounded like it. Just waiting for Spring, like the rest of us.
I warmed up more eggplant for my dinner. They never taste as
good the next day, but then again most thing don’t.
Sidebar: Possible exceptions to that rather broad statement
would be chili, beef stew, some soups and spaghetti. Those seem to improve with
a day or two in the fridge.
I watched some taped TV shows (just trying to keep up with
the cable box) but turned in early at 9:30 p.m.
True. Fried food does not hold up. Fry in as little oil as possible and to order is what I say.
