It was cold Monday morning and all I really wanted to do was stay in my nice warm bed. But, I dragged my sorry ass into work, anyway.
It did eventually warm up into the 50’s, but it stayed
cloudy and overcast all day. Gloomy.
I went to the Newburgh Grill. For some unexplainable reason,
I ordered the hot turkey sandwich. I wanted something substantial, and it was.
I thought it would be open faced, but nope. It was a big turkey sandwich, with
a scoop of mashed potatoes. Both were smothered in turkey gravy and there was
a side of mixed vegetables. I finished the sandwich and about half the potatoes
and veg.
The afternoon passed slowly, but I was finally headed home.
When I got there, I left the truck outside while I
rearranged the garage. I don’t feel comfortable leaving the truck outside. I’ll
have to when it get to painting the doors, but we’re not close to that yet. So,
I pulled the truck in and closed it up for the night.
I just did the things I should have gotten done over the
weekend. I washed a load of clothes, got the trash ready for Tuesday’s pickup,
cleaned up the kitchen and the toilets, etc., etc., etc.
I scrounged around for something to eat. It was getting late
(Red Wings playoff came on at 7:00 p.m.) so I settled for some Spam. Hey, I
like Spam! I fried up three slices and ate them with ketchup and a piece of
buttered bread.
The hockey game was exciting – very physical and quick. We
ended up losing (5-2) but I decided it was well worth watching. Unfortunately,
that means we have to win on Wednesday or we are out of the playoffs.
I read a bit after the game and then went to bed at 11:00
p.m.
Glad you had an easier night! Go Red Wings.
ReplyDeleteWe can only hope...
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I've ever had spam but I wouldn't have thought to pair it with ketchup. Is that common?
ReplyDeleteI dunno. That's just how I ate it as a` kid.
