It was cold on Tuesday when I took the trashcan out to the
road. So, I wore a jacket to work.
But, it had warmed up enough that I walked outside at 10:00
a.m.
I went to the Newburgh Grill and got the bean with ham soup
and an excellent patty melt for lunch. Then I went to the Meijer’s in Westland
and picked up some cherry tomatoes and some clothes hangers.
I had to turn the A/C on in the afternoon in the office at work. I got a lot of
flack from Courtney, who complained it was too cold. I explained I set it at 74
degrees, which is what she had the heat set at. But, I couldn’t do another day
at 79!
Sidebar: We have a lot of windows in our suite, none of
which open. So, with Monday’s sunshine, the heat climbed to 79 degrees. I wasn’t
the only one who was uncomfortable. Even Jeff, who normally wears his coat,
said it was too hot. Courtney said she thought it was “comfortable.” When I got
home my underwear (top and bottom) was soggy! I ended up taking a shower before
changing my clothes!
I was talking with Vicky, just before 5:00 p.m., about
kitchen cabinets. Then I left. I made it to Levan when I realized I’d forgotten
my cell phone! So, I turned around and went back to work and got it.
Back at home, I retrieved my trashcan and went inside. I
treated the cat and changed clothes (sans shower). I went out back.
First, I refilled the feeders. Then I got a garbage bag and
my pick-up stick (a four-foot dowel with a pointed nail in it) and picked up
another bag of trash. I stopped when it was full.
Sidebar: I have at least one more garbage bag out there.
I saw my neighbor, Rick, in his yard with the puggles, so I
went over to the fence to chat. I asked if he’d come up with a quote for my
garage repair.
He said no. Turns out his Dad (who I met once) had gone out
on a job (he builds ice rinks) but got sick. His father ended up in the
hospital and the diagnosis was leukemia! He seemed to be responding to the
chemo, but then died.
I offered my condolences and he said he was going to visit
his brother for a few days. He said he’d get me the quote when he got back. I
said it was no big rush and to take care of family first.
I went back inside, bummed, remembering the weird crap that
went on the day my Father died.
I fixed a salad of Romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes and some
sliced Vidalia onion for dinner. I wanted to try Jake’s new Bolthouse Farms yogurt
chunky Blue cheese dressing, but realized I still had some of my favorite
Wishbone Blue cheese dressing left. So, I used that up first.
It was delicious, but in reading the “Nutrition Facts,” I
realized Jake’s point. My Wishbone serving size was 140 calories. Jake’s
Boathouse (same size serving) was 35.
Nonetheless, I enjoyed my salad and ate the sh*t out of it!
Then I watched NCIS and NCIS New Orleans.
Before I went to sleep, I realized I hadn’t changed the thermometer
at work back to “Heat.”
Cortney (who comes in at 7:00 a.m.) is going to kill me!
I saw yesterday they have a couple other Bolthouse varieties. Will check them out one day and let you know.
