I just made it to work before the rain started. Oh, I know we need it but, damn, there goes the truck wash…
It rained hard about 8:30 a.m., but stopped before I walked
outside at 10:00. It was still warm, but it had gotten windy as a cold front
moved in.
I went to the Newburgh Grill and got the beef vegetable soup
and a patty melt. Then I went to Lowe’s and got the paint for the birdbath.
I was bummed to learn that all six Hiller’s markets (a
specialty food store I love) have been bought by Kroger’s and will become
Kroger’s stores. Sigh…
When I got home after work, I changed clothes and went out
to the garage. I used wood filler to fill all the holes in the doors I had done
and then set them out to dry. I got another two doors cleared of hardware (these
are the original uppers and have at least 1/8 inches of paint on top of them), before
I was too hot and sweaty.
So, I quit for the night. I made a can of split pea with ham
soup for dinner.
It was after 8:00 p.m., so I just watched some taped TV
until bedtime.
Kroger, you aren't great so stop buying all the good stores left! Jake and I often went to Hiller's. Sad day.
ReplyDeleteHoliday Market in Canton is a good one.
ReplyDeleteI know, that's my fall-back. But, Carla's right, I will miss Hiller's.
