It was warm outside when I left for work (63 degrees
F.). I rode to work with the window down. It was nice!
It was warmer still when I walked outside at 10:00
a.m. but, by then, it felt muggy.
Vicky asked if I had any plans for lunch and I said
not really. So, she suggested we go to a place we’d gone to last year. I didn’t
remember it at first, but she reminded me she had loved the wings and their
French onion soup and I liked the fish.
So, we went there. When I heard the soup of the day
was clam chowder, I ditched the fish and chips idea (I wasn’t that hungry) and
got a cup of the clam chowder and a burger. She ordered a bowl of French onion
soup and the wings appetizer.
My soup was good, but she said hers wasn’t as good
as she remembered. Then I got my burger. Boring and tasted like a frozen patty!
Vicky’s wings didn’t have any breading on them. So, when the waitress stopped
to check on us, Vicky asked, “Didn’t these wings used to come with breading?”
The waitress replied, “I don’t know. I just started here six months ago when
the new owners took over.”
Well, that explained it! Cross that restaurant off
my list!!!
We got stuck by a long, slow train at the Levan
crossing, so we sat there and complained about our food, LOL! I bought her some
M&Ms for Mother’s Day, then I went back to work.
It was even hotter at 3:00 p.m. when I walked (82
degrees F.). But I bitched about the cold last winter (hell, I think it was
still cold last month, come to think of it). So, I sucked it up and finished my
walk.
I got home after work and went inside. I treated
Caley and changed clothes. I noticed it seemed hot in the house, but figured
the A/C hadn’t caught up yet. I started paying bills online (today was payday).
But, as I sat there, I noticed I was sweating. Curious, I went and checked the
thermostat. It was 77 freaking degrees F. in the house! WTF?
So, I walked downstairs. The furnace fan was on (good). I looked outside
and the A/C fan was not (not good!)
Aw, shit. I don’t want to call Scott Pace and have
him come over on the weekend!
Then I thought, maybe it’s just a fuse. So, I got my
electrical tester and went outside.
Sidebar: Rick has got his tents and a pota-potty set
up for his father’s weekend wake. That’s both so cool and so sad…
I checked, and the fuses were good, but the circuits
were dead. So, I went around the house to the electrical meters. The house one
was running fine, but the A/C one was dead with a weird message on it. “SeC9”
something or other. That’s when I finally remembered that I signed up for the interruptible
power option (to save money). So, (thank God) nothing’s broke, it was hot
everywhere and I was just interrupted.
So. I turned the overhead fan in the kitchen and old
fashion fan in the bedroom on and waited. Finally the A/C kicked back on.
I made some boxed mac & cheese for dinner. I’m
running of options. I really need to go grocery shopping! I don’t even have any
regular milk, so thank God for evaporated cans!
I ate it all while watching stupid sh*t on TV (my
bad). Then I went to sleep.

Only two, but beautiful......what is the name of the Lilac? is it off white or pink?
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long I don't remember the name (I bought it when I first moved here). It starts out as a deep pink, but lightens up when in full bloom.
