When I woke up (at 4:00 a.m.) the first thing I did was to
shut the kitchen and bedroom windows. It was cold outside and inside! I got the
trash all set and out to the road.
I didn’t wear a jacket to work, though. So, when I went to
walk outside at 10:00 a.m., I only made two round trips before I gave up and
walked inside.
I went to Newburgh Grill again. This time I got a cup of the
bean and ham (my favorite, and only on Tuesdays – if then) and a gyro. From
there, I went and got the truck washed. It’s not supposed to rain again until
the weekend (of course).
Back at work, I read a book until 1:00 p.m.
I walked inside in the afternoon. The winds had picked up
and the temps were still dropping.
Back home after work, I got in the trash can, treated the
cat, changed clothes and took each cabinet door outside to scrape off the
stripper. This time I wore a jacket.
I got three done when Jon-Boy showed up.
Sidebar: After racing around last week to try and get the
lawn cut before it rained (and doing a crappy job of it), I made an executive
decision. With everything I have to do this summer, I don’t have time for lawn
cutting. So, I called my old service provider (I’ve used them when I was laid
up several times and once when my tractor was broken) and got on their
schedule. I didn’t know what day they would come, but now I know. The nice
thing was that the price hadn’t gone up.
So, I went in and got a cup of coffee (I needed it) and
filled in the Blog while they cut, trimmed and blew off the grass.
They finished up about 6:45 p.m. and I got back to work. I
finished up about a half hour later. I put everything away for the night.
Note: I did not put another coat of stripper on. The doors
still seem damp, so I’m gonna let them sit and dry out a couple of days (and
give myself tomorrow night off, LOL).
I noticed the iris I got from Sadie’s farm were starting to
bloom so I took a couple of photos for you, as well as the ones that are under
my bedroom window (facing east).

Sidebar: I hope the ones I gave my brother Carl are blooming
this year as well.
I used the last of the taco meat to make another taco salad.
I kicked it up a notch by adding sliced black olives this time.
Unfortunately my NCIS shows were all reruns. I watched them
anyway and went to bed at 10:00 p.m.

Not yet...give me a couple of sunny warm days and they will be out.
ReplyDeleteThanks
