It was still warm and muggy when I woke up with the alarm on
Tuesday morning. According to the news, we have a threat of severe
thunderstorms from somewhere between 4:00 to 10:00 p.m.
I walked outside in the morning and it was like trying to
breathe water.
I went to the Newburgh Grill for lunch and got a cup of
their bean with ham soup and a mini-Greek salad. Then I went to the CVS in the
same strip mall and got some tooth paste, mouthwash and a birthday card for
B___’s granddaughter.
Sidebar: This was on the ToDo list this past weekend, but
never happened.
I got my Amazon box from UPS (I have things delivered to
work, rather than letting them sit on my porch – security concerns). I got a
Bluetooth keyboard for the tablet. I charged it for three hours and then set it
up. Just one more thing to carry, but it works!
Sidebar: Should have just bought a cheap laptop!!!
I walked outside in the afternoon and noticed just how much
the winds had picked up. It was 80 degrees, BTW.
I lucked out and it was still just hot and muggy, but not
raining, when I left work at 5:00 p.m. for home.
I treated the cat, changed clothes and then went back
outside. I had a couple of things I wanted to accomplish, but it started
sprinkling. So, I retreated back inside.
But, the sprinkling stopped. Which was lucky as the lawn
guys showed up and cut the grass.
It looked great, but as I was watching out the window, it
started raining again. Then the weather radio went off! According to it, the
storm will hit here about 7:15 p.m. Since it was only 6:50 p.m., I imagine I
will have to listen to that damn racket for at least another half hour.
Sidebar: I complain a lot about it, but realize that the
weather radio may save my ass someday…
By 7:00 p.m., the rain was hitting the windows hard. Now the
TV was issuing also warnings on the emergency warning system. Geesh!
Sidebar: I don’t think it was the rain or thunderstorms that
were the issue. I think it was the high winds.
By 7:20, the storm and moved on and it was just sprinkling
here. I warmed up the last of the shrimp and pasta for dinner. I watched the NCIS and NCIS New Orleans reruns and went to bed.
Are your shows over for the summer? Our shows are almost gone...so sad! And my most favorite show RuPaul's Drag Race ends on Monday...tears will begin shortly.
ReplyDeleteYes, but there are supposed to be some good summer replacement series coming on. Aquarius starry David Duchovny starts tonight on NBC and sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteGood investment with the keyboard! Is it the kind that forms a base for the tablet or..?
ReplyDelete@ Jake: Yes and no. It's made to fit with the newest Lenovo tablet, which I don't have. They don't make one specifically for my model, though. So, I just set it in front of it.
