I know this may seem like a odd question but I can't find the information anywhere, I was looking at old photos and after a quick trip to see papa at the cemetery I realized I have no clue when your dad Goerge Otto Sr. passed away I think his birthday was March 30th 1903 but that's only a guess and I was wondering what cemetery he was at. I'm sorry and understand if you don't want to talk about it. Also I heard he had two middle names Goerge OttoThaddeus Goerlich is this true? - Today
- John Goerlich
Hey kid. I have no problem talking about my dad (especially today, LOL! I loved the guy. You are absolutely correct about his birthday .but I am a little fuzzzy about the day he died. i was up all night and eventually physically abused a nurse. I called Uncle Joe (who remebers everything) and he nevere heard of the Thaddeus name. It might have been his confirmation name. - John Goerlich
He is buried in Saint Mary's cemetery on Ridge Road in New Baltimore Next to my Mother, along with my brother Peter and my little sister Anne.and Carl's wife Betty. I was supposed to be buried next to Anne, but apparently tree roots forbid that. So, they are giving me a spot out somewhere else. I offered to cut down the damn tree, BTW. - John Goerlich
I remember your Grampa's funeral quite clearly. I was young. And they put the casket in the ground. That was my brother, dammit! So, I grabbed a handful o dirt off the pile and walked over to the hole and threw it on the casket.. I said "rest in peace, brother" or something. Then all my brothers did the same. - John Goerlich
So, I started a family tradition. You better throw some dirt on my casket and tell me you love me or somryhing ot else I will haunt you. - Today
- Jamie Hugo
Thank you smile emoticon and you better believe I'll be there throwing a handful of dirt. I'm going to try and make it a tradition to go each father's day and see papa and great grandpa and now everyone else now that I know they are there (so one day a long time down the road...I'm sorry your stuck here ninjas live to atleast 100 or so don't worry) you'll have a visitor too on father's day. - Jamie Hugo
That sounds great smile emoticon so next father's day we have a date to see them and Dave will come too - John Goerlich
I'll update my calendar. Dave should definitely come. He should know just what he's getting into, LOL! We have a long, weird history...
