Sidebar: Thank God!
I woke up early on Friday morning. Since I promised my boss
(or my boos as I apparently like to call her) I would make up the time for my
missed Wednesday, I got ready early and headed out.
I stopped at the Looney Bakery and got a dozen mixed bagels,
three salt bagels in a separate bag and a tub of cream cheese.
Sidebar: Jeff, my boss and I love salt bagels. What I didn’t
know was they put a couple of salt bagels in the box, anyway.
I got to work just after 7:00 a.m. I ate my salt bagel and
was happy.
Sidebar: I left my cane in the truck. It’s time to tough it
out!!!
It was supposed to rain (and rain hard) today but the heavy
storms moved north of us. It sprinkled off and on after noon, but that was it.
I went to Time Out for the first time in some three weeks
and was waited on by a new waitress, Julie. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork with
fries (the soup sounded weird), but I couldn’t finish either the sandwich or
the fries. Of course, that brought the usual remarks (Wasn’t it good? – Yes, it
was excellent!) (Do you want a box? – No, I’m good…)
I signed up for some company charity walk next Saturday at
the Detroit Zoo. I’m not sure I will actually go (I have a graduation party in
the afternoon). But, I got a free company tee-shirt, hat and a pedometer.
Sidebar: I have spent 25 years avoiding owning anything that
had a company logo on it, but… I need to start walking more. PR was
embarrassing.
When I left work for home, I took the leftover bagels and
the cream cheese. No sense pitching them. If I can’t toast them to warm them
up, I’ll feed them to the squirrels.
I checked the rain gauge and there was just a trace in it.
I filled out the ToDo List and reconciled the check register
on the computer. I warmed up some meatloaf, fried potatoes and some frozen peas
for dinner.
I watched some taped TV, but fell asleep by 9:00 p.m. When I
woke up around midnight, it was raining. I shut the lights and TV off and went
back to bed.
What a great tchotchke; I love pedometers! 10,000 steps per day equals, roughly, five miles. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteGood to know. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIf you wrap the pedometer in a sock, the steps will increase if placed in a dryer on low. So I've heard.
ReplyDeleteClever! I'll catch up to Fred, yet!!!
