It was cloudy, overcast and humid on Thursday. But at least it wasn’t raining.
I went to Time Out for lunch and got a grilled chicken
salad. As usual, it was way too big and I only could eat about half of it.
Sidebar: They are closing down on Monday for a two-week
vacation (they do that every year). Dan, the owner, told me he was going to the
Dominican Republic again (he has some sort of time-share or group discount
thing), so he was happy. The waitresses are less than happy – they get their usual
low-income two-week pay, but no tips to increase their pay. I over-tipped Mandy
(my waitress) just because.
From there, I went Larry’s Foodland and bought a bunch of
bananas.
Sidebar: I actually hate bananas. But when I was talking to
Melissa the night before, I was complaining about the cramps I was getting in
my right leg (the good one). She checked with Dave and he said I needed more
potassium and should eat some bananas.
In the afternoon, I got the photos from Evy’s camera and
will post them for you. She got a picture of the elusive coqui!
Sidebar: Mundy told me they like water, so she sprayed the
back yard with a hose for me. I waited while, but gave up eventually.
Apparently Evy had more stamina.
I ate one banana about 4:00 p.m. Gag me with a spoon! But,
if I can make the zoo walk on Saturday, I guess it’s worth it.
When I got home, it was still dry. So, I treated the cat, changed
clothes and went outside. I got the step ladder, my gloves and my little rake.
Then I cleaned the gutter over the garage door.
I cleaned the mess up with a snow shovel and then blew off
the concrete. When I went inside, it was almost 7:30 p.m.
I “baked” two Yukon Gold potatoes in the microwave and then
warmed up the last hamburger patty. I didn’t have any buns left, so I just topped
it with A1 steak sauce. I put butter and sour cream on the potatoes and had a
good dinner.
There didn’t seem to be anything on TV so I read a book
until bedtime.

If you swap out your Yukon potatoes for sweet potatoes, you can get potassium that way.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like sweet potatoes. I was beginning to think that potassium just tasted like crap.
