Friday and crusin’

I slept in until almost 7:00 a.m. on Friday. I didn’t care. I was on a three day weekend!

I grabbed a cup of coffee and filled in the Blog post. I watched the morning news until it ended.

I went out back in my bathrobe to get some chives. There was a little black squirrel sitting in the lawn. Instead of running away, he reared up and started chattering at me! I was so impressed at him that I walked over to the feed can, got a peanut and threw it at him.

Back inside, I made a ham, chive and cheese omelet. I toasted an English muffin, and put some blackberry jam on one half. I do that with toast as well. I eat the buttered ones with my breakfast and the one with jelly or jam as dessert.

I didn’t want to take a shower as I was expecting a box from UPS. So, I messed around on the computer, waiting. Imagine my surprise when I got an email saying the box had been delivered! So, I went and checked and, sure enough, the box was on my porch.

I finally got cleaned up and dressed at 11:00 a.m.

I watered all the container gardens and then worked inside the rest of the day.  I did take a long nap (I love naps) in the afternoon.

I ate all the leftovers for dinner.

When it got dark, I watched the neighborhood fireworks (they have been blowing them off all week) and the fire flies in the back yard.

Sidebar: I think the fire flies were turned on by the fireworks, because they were everywhere!!!

I went to bed at 11:30 p.m.
