It hadn’t rained overnight (as predicted) but it was chilly!
I had more date and nut bread for breakfast and then got ready for work.
I walked briskly outside in the morning (I didn’t take a jacket).
It started raining around 11:00 a.m., but just lightly. So, I
went to Time Out and got my Friday fish and chips. Then I drove back to work
and read until 1:00 p.m.
It had stopped raining by the time I headed home for work,
but the roads were still damp. There was some sort of problem on I-96 and, just
past the Middle Belt exit, all lanes stopped dead.
Sidebar: Why does this always happen after an exit you could have escaped to?
We slowly crawled to the Inkster exit, then I ran into a
traffic jam at the top of the ramp. Good Lord!
I finally got home, treated the cat and changed clothes. I
checked the gauge and that five hours of light rain gave me barely a quarter
inch of rain. But, everything was damp and dripping (and it’s supposed to rain
on Saturday) so I decided I didn’t need to water anything.
It was a pay day, so I wrote some checks and worked on my
financial spreadsheets. I had a cup of coffee so I could warm up.
I took one of those huge pork shops and cut it into cubes. I
tasted one and it was perfect! If only the ribs had turned out that good!!! I
poured a little BBQ sauce on the cubes and warmed them and an ear of roasted
corn in the microwave.
I ate an excellent dinner watched the last of the Nightly News and the
first part of Wheel of Fortune (I was too lazy to change the channel).
Then I used the DVD and watched “Master and Commander” for
the hundredth time. When it was finished, I went to bed.
I don't think I've ever seen that movie. You must be watching it for the both of us.
ReplyDeleteIts excellent if you like sailing ships like I do.
