Wednesday’s weather was more of the same.
I went to Time Out for lunch and got their version of a Slim
Jim, the Slim Joey. I swapped the fries for today’s soup: Bean with Jalapenos.
It was spicy, but good. The sandwich was just so-so.
Then I took a ride through Hines Park. There was a lot of
people walking, running and biking, just enjoying the weather.
I left for home at 5:00 p.m. I have forgotten to mention it,
but I have been taking I-96 to Beech Daly at night, all week long. They are
resurfacing Inkster, but just between the freeway and Plymouth Road. So, there
is only one lane open both ways and the traffic jam is horrible.
Why are they doing just that one mile stretch of road? Well,
they are building what I’m told will be a hotel right at the corner of Inkster
and the Schoolcraft service drive. And, rumor has it they are planning on
turning the big abandoned warehouse next to Arby’s into some sort of Outlet
Mall. Part of the deal was the township would fix the road. Stay tuned…
I got home, treated the cat and changed into my working clothes.
I had the news on. I started the Wednesday wash. I went up in the attic and got
two of the three boxes for the watering globes. I could not find the third!
While I was up there, I got down my suitcase. Thanksgiving is still seven or
eight weeks away, but my legs do not like the attic ladder all that much these
days.
I put away four of the globes (two to a box) and then sat on
the bed to rest my legs. I watched the news until 7:00 p.m. and then realized I’d
p*ssed away my chance of working outside!
Sidebar: I rationalized it by thinking if I really had
wanted to do it, I would have. So, I moved on…
I used the last of the tuna fish mixture to make another sandwich
for dinner. This time I added a pickle to my plate (wish I had some chips).
I watched the new NCIS and NCIS New Orleans and then went to
bed at 10:00 p.m.
I love your rationalizations. I'm stealing them!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good season for "NCIS and NCIS New Orlean":
ReplyDelete@ Carla: Feel free!!!
ReplyDelete@GPF: Yes, yes it does. My two favorite shows!
What's in a slim Jim again? I seem to recall them being toasted or grilled but my memory of them is fading.
ReplyDeleteHam, Swiss and mayo. The bun is weighted down and grilled until its toasted.
