Thursday’s weather was more of the same, only warmer (high
of 78 degrees here in Redford).
So, walking outside was great!
I had errands to run at lunchtime and didn’t have time to eat
at a restaurant. So, I stopped at Arby’s and got a roast beef sandwich (with
horsey sauce) curly fries and a coke. I took it back to work and ate at my
desk. It was fast food, but delicious,
When I got home, I changed clothes and went out back. I
hooked up the square head sprinkler and watered the vegetable garden.
While the water was on, I went up front and weeded another
section of the garden, after adding dirt between the flagstones and the
original garden. Then I spread two bags of mulch.
A neighbor from down the street (who I don't know) was walking his handicapped daughter in her wheel chair on the street (we don't have sidewalks). He told me my garden was looking good. I told him I'm trying!
Back in the back, I rolled up the hose. Then I pulled up all
the dead or dying plants. All that remains is a few small peas (not even
flowering), the green beans (somebody’s chewing on them) and the immature
radishes. I left them to see if I get anything, but I think I planted them a
bit too late.
I harvested the last three cucumbers. The cucumber plant was
my biggest producer this year!
I started making my planned dinner (the one I keep putting
off) by grating an onion on the box grater. But, my eyes were watering, it was
late and I was tired. So, I put the grated onion in a container in the fridge
and just ate crackers and cheddar cheese for dinner. Then I went to bed at 9:00
p.m.

How much more do you have to do on the garden before it's finished?
ReplyDeleteJust to the end. Should be done tonight or tomorrow at the latest (thank God!!!)
ReplyDeleteWhen will this mystery dinner be revealed?
