I woke up at 730 a.m. on Saturday. I got ready and headed out
to get my hair cut. From there I went to Kroger’s and picked up a few items I
needed. Next I went to Westborn for some grated parmesan cheese and a loaf of
that Rustic Italian bread.
Finally, I went to Home Depot and bought two landscape
timbers and 20 foot long sections of 1/2 inch rebar.
I came home around 11:30 a.m. and unloaded my stuff. I put
on my work clothes and, well, got to work.
My first task was to straighten up the garage as best I
could under the circumstances. Then I swept it. I moved the rack holding Vicky’s
cabinet doors inside. I still need to paint them all and the garage is getting
too cold for that.
Next I went out back in the truck and grabbed all the
landscape timbers that Rick gave me (I had just stuck them under the play
structure at the time). I took them up and put them in the garage. I need to
drill holes in them for the rebar.
I watered the front porch hanging plants, the mum and the
two hostas I transplanted.
Inside, I washed the stove. By then I was getting hungry.
So, I took the remaining slices of pork and chopped them up (I am over Cubano
sandwiches for a while). I put them in a pan, added some Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ
sauce and put it on low heat.
I stripped the bed and started the weekend wash. By them the
pork was starting to break up, so I used another hoagie roll and made a nice
BBQ pork sandwich for my dinner.
I went to watch some TV, but the damn cable was out again.
So, I stuck a DVD in and watched a movie until bedtime.
We are going to be making BBQ pork sandwiches soon. They sound delicious!
