It started raining during the night and it was raining hard when I took the trash out to the road.
So, I would have walked inside, had I remembered.
I got a follow-up call from Saint Mary Mercy hospital,
checking on how I was doing. I thought that was nice.
I went to Big Boy for lunch, in the rain. For a change in taste, I chose
from the “Pick Any Three” menu. I picked a Caesar side salad (they make a good
Caesar salad), a cup of broccoli and ham soup and a half sandwich (three cheeses
with tomato, grilled on sourdough bread). Naturally, I had just taken my first
bite of the sandwich when the waitress asked how I was doing. My mouth was full
of hot cheese, some of which still clung to the sandwich in my hands (so I
couldn’t even give a “thumbs-up”). All I could do was nod and she laughed.
Sigh… why do these things always happen to me?
From there I went to Ace Hardware and got some Draino. I
missed my semi-annual drain treatment this year and now the kitchen sink is
gurgling ominously.
The afternoon passed slowly, but I did remember to walk in
the afternoon.
It was still drizzling when I drove home. I got in the
trashcan and then got myself in the house.
I treated all the drains and changed clothes while I waited
30 minutes. I heated water on the stove and then dumped it down each drain when
time was up.
Sidebar: I’m always confused with the instructions. You are
supposed to wait 30 minutes and then flush it with hot water. I don’t know
about your house but in mine, after 30 minutes, the first thing that comes out
of the hot water tap is cold water. So, I cope.
When I got hungry, I made some penne pasta. I stirred in
butter, salt and pepper. Then I topped it with a generous amount of grated
parmesan cheese. Simple, but delicious!
I watched NCIS but then went to bed. I’ll let NCIS New
Orleans tape…
Is this drain treatment to help with your biennial root drilling or something else?
ReplyDeleteWell, you are supposed to do this as routine household preventative measure. But I also hose it helps me from shelling out $200.00 for the root drilling as well.

@ GPF: I saw it on some DIY show and it made sense. I mean every day you get some hairs or dirt or "something" going down your drains. This prevents the build-up of gunk tht could clog it.
ReplyDeleteNow, this does NOT help with the tree root problem.
I use the liquid Draino gel and just pour it down the garbage disposal. It eventually gets into the trap (the garbage disposal is just a drain, after all).
