I woke up around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday and turned on the TV for the news. I heard there was dense fog so I looked outside. Sure enough, we were socked in!
I filled in the Blog and then went in search of breakfast. I
ended up turning three large eggs into scrambled eggs. I only added in some
chives, black pepper and salt. But I topped them with some shredded cheddar
cheese. Excellent!
Now, I must admit. Had I known on Tuesday I wasn’t getting a
massage at 9:00 a.m., I would have made my haircut appointment at 9:00 instead
of 10:15.
Because it took forever to get the errands done, starting
that late.
I finally left (still in the fog) for my haircut. It was beautiful outside as the fog had frozen on each tree and turned them into a white Winter Wonderland.
From
there, I went to the Honey Baked Ham store across the street. I bought a box of
“roasted” turkey breast.
Sidebar: I don’t particularly like “Honey Baked Ham.” That
sugar crust they put on it is way too sweet and then the ham bone can’t be used
for split pea and ham soup. So, I have all these coupons for the ham (we get
them each year at work for Christmas). Jake advised me a few years ago they
also sold smoked turkey breast, so I tried it. It was good for sandwiches, but
I had too much left.
But, when I went in, I saw they also sold “roasted” turkey
breast, so I tried that.
From there, I went to Kroger’s and got a few things. Sadly,
my list did not include the two apples I needed for Sunday morning. (Sigh…)
Next I went to Meijer’s. From there I went to Home Depot and
bought more 60 watt soft swirl ice cream cone bulbs (Hey, that’s what they
remind me of, okay?) and a new trash can.
I got home about 1:00 p.m. I left the truck outside, so I
could unload it after treating the cat.
The fog had lightened up, so before I changed clothes, I put
in the snow wands in the driveway.
Then I took down the autumn decorations and put up the
Christmas ones.
I went out back to refill the bird and squirrel feeders and
the suet cage. Then I got the shed opened and took out the transfer shovel. I
scraped the remaining charcoal and ash out of the state park grill. I think that
helps to keep it from rusting too much.
I noticed that the Jon Boy guys had left the trailer full of
leaves. So, I got out the blower and cleaned them off, so the bed wouldn’t rot
over the winter.
Back inside, it was almost 3:00 p.m. I was tired, so I took
a nap.
I woke up after 5:30 p.m. I made a turkey sandwich for my
dinner and added a pickle to the plate (wish I had a few chips!)
DAMMIT! They put that stupid sweet crust on their roasted turkey
breast as well! Should have gotten the smoked turkey breast instead…
I watched the Red Wings game. We won!!!
I watched the Michigan State football game during
commercials and between hockey periods.
They won as well, but it wasn’t as satisfying. They sucked
through most of the game (interceptions, penalties, quarterback sacks, etc.)
and won with a lucky touchdown in the last few seconds of the game. I think
they were clearly over-matched by Iowa. But that’s just me.
I went to bed around midnight.

Sounds like a busy day even without the massage. It's also strange to see no snow on the ground in December in Michigan.
ReplyDeleteWe are having a strange winter here...
ReplyDeleteHB Ham has lunch boxes, too, I think.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen them, but I'll check...
