I made some scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast, for a change. Then I stripped the bed and threw the sheets and pillow cases in the washer. I shaved, showered and got dressed.
My first stop was to see if Hines Drive was open. I still thought I might have a chance to ride the bike before it rained. But...
So, I turned the truck around and headed to Home Depot. On the way, I took another photo of the Holiday Express Inn. It's coming along nicely.
The planter I painted is smaller than the first one, so I just bought another dahlia and the droopy plant. They had some impaitents in hanging baskets on sale, so I bought two for the shady back yard.
I went over to Meijer's to look for a yellow rose and more sweet alyssum. They were out of both. Worse yet, I was right in the middle of the plants when the misters overhead came on! I was dripping wet when I left.
Back home, I was unloading the truck when I heard the thunder. I quickly got the painted planter out of the shed and into the garage. I hung up the two hanging planters in a light rain.
Back in the garage, I filled the red planter with potting soil and planted the two flowers. I watered the hell out of it and set it in place.
So, that's it! I am done with annuals this year. But, I am pleased with the results.
It didn't rain long here.Which was disappointing.
Sidebar: I checked Monday morning and I didn't even get a 1/4 inch of rain on Sunday.
But, I told myself that I had to clean the house because of the rain, so I did it anyway. I remade the bed when the dryer was done and put the last load of weekend wash in the washer.
I dusted, swept and vacuumed.
The next step would have been washing the floors, but I decided to take a nap instead.
I woke up around 5:00 p.m. and was hungry. So, I warmed up the fajitas mixture and made two more for dinner.
Then, I was stuffed and didn't feel like washing floors. So, I watched the news and then the movie, "The Hobbit, an Unexpected Journey." Its a three hour movie (at least on TV with commercials) so it was bedtime when it was over.
I guess I'll wash the floors tomorrow night...

ReplyDeleteYou're on a utilitarian motorcycle not some four-wheeled cage! Where's your sense of adventure?
I suppose I could have bypassed the warning signs.
ReplyDeleteBut, I didn't want to risk a ticket.
