It started
thundering late Tuesday/early Wednesday. It woke me up out of a sound sleep.
But I finally was able to fall back asleep. It seemed like two seconds later
when the Norad weather radio went off. It’s on my nightstand, BTW. It warned me
there were thunderstorms approaching. Gee, thanks!
When I woke up
in the morning, the lake was back!

It had stopped
raining by the time I went to work, but the ponding on the roads forced me to
keep the wipers on.
I went to Time
Out for lunch and told Amanda the bad news. I had originally thought I would
offer to make her a new bench. So, I asked her if she was attached to the one I
had because it was her son’s or did she just want a bench. So, I said, “Are you
really attached to the toy box because it was your son’s?” She said, “Actually,
it was mine when I was a little girl. I just let my son use it.” So, I didn’t
bother bringing up a new bench.
She said if she
couldn’t stain it, she would paint it. That makes my job a lot easier.
I had a turkey
and Swiss sandwich for lunch.
I had
volunteered to pick up some water for a meeting on Thursday, so I went to the
dollar store. I was loading it into the truck when it started raining hard
again and I got soaked.
When I got home
after work it was already turning colder. It’s supposed to get below freezing
tonight and snow. So, it’s a good thing the ducks haven’t found my lake yet.
I did the Wednesday night wash and then I had the last
of the chicken soup for dinner.
I watched a
little TV but went to bed by 9:00 p.m.

I, too, thought replacement would be far easier.
ReplyDeleteShe eventually has agreed to that. But I offered to fix the bottom of her origianl toy box (easy-peasy)and give her both.
