I slept in late on Sunday. When I finally woke up, I got a cup of coffee and made some scrambled eggs for breakfast. Next I did the Sunday morning chores.
Today was sunny for a change, but cold!!!
I had to kill some time (the pharmacy at CVS doesn't open on Sunday until 10:00 a.m.) so I leisurely shaved, showered and got dressed.
Then, I headed out to Kroger's. I got the few things I needed and went to CVS. In addition to the prescription they had called about, I got more toothpaste and mouthwash.
I was home by 10:45 a.m. I treated the cat, put away the groceries and the changed into work-at-home clothes.
I had left the truck outside after I unloaded it, so I went into the garage and set up the saw horses. Then, using the jig saw, I cut the poplar wood into the two armrests. I used the palm sander to finish shaping them. I moved the bench into the kitchen and test fit them. I left them sitting in place for a photo shoot.
Sidebar: I can't attach the arms yet. I have to iron on the veneer edging first.
Then I cut and attached the three 1x3 inch supports for the top. I didn't take a picture of that.
My back was still hurting from Saturday, so I decided that was enough for today. I put everything away, swept the garage floor and pulled the truck back in.
I changed out of my dusty clothes (BTW, thanks Jake! Those Dickie's work shirts are really coming in handy) and into shorts and a tee shirt.
I took another Celebrex and laid on the bed, reading. I eventually fell asleep and had a nice nap.
When I woke up, it was 4:30 p.m., so I got my Sunday supper started. I cut up five Yukon Gold potatoes and threw them into the Dutch oven. I topped that with a bag of sauerkraut and slices of a ring of smoked sausage. I brought that to a boil and turned it down to simmer.
I went back to reading for another half hour, then I dished up dinner. I ate too much.
I went back to reading in bed until 8:00 p.m. when I watched NCIS Los Angeles. When it ended at 9:00, I went back to reading and I read until 10:30 and bed time.

Your project looks really nice, John.
