I woke up at 4:00 a.m. and couldn't fall back asleep (probably due to the long nap on Friday). So I read in bed until it was light out.
I went with my new morning routine while drinking a cup of coffee.
I started sweating (a sure sign of low blood sugar for me) so I checked my sugar level, It was 35!!! Normal is around 140, BTW. So I ate two mini candy bars. I keep them in the house per doctor's orders.
I went back to bed (in case I passed out) and started feeling better in 15-20 minutes.
I was hungry when I got back up. So, I went outside (in my bathrobe) and cut four chives.
Sidebar, the chives are starting to send out bloom buds. I really have to cut them!!!
Back inside, I snipped them into 1/4 inch pieces and added them to three eggs I had whisked. I soft scrambled them and ate them with two pieces of toasted Italian bread. OMG, I thought I'd died and went to heaven!!!
It was chilly when I got the chives (maybe it was because my whillie was hanging out there) so I went back to bed and book.
I read through lunch. I did my eye drops, though.
Sidebar: Only one is once a day. The other two are three times a day.
I watched the Kentucky Derby (I usually do). It was an exciting finish.
I fell asleep around 4:00 p.m. and woke up at 6:00. I was hungry then, so I ate the rest of the mac & cheese, with a little more milk (Yay!) to heat it in the microwave.
I read until bedtime.
When you go to Betsy's, dig me up a start plug of chives....please
