Saturday, Jake, Carla and myself went off to Ann Arbor, for my birthday dinner (oh, BTW, Carla also gave me another part of my birthday present, a CD with the Best of the Rolling Stones - "Start me Up" oh, yeah!) We listened to it and all sang along on the way.
Ann Arbor is about 20 miles from my house. We went through a lot of Ann Arbor residential areas. Could help but notice how cool, elegant, or funky most of the houses are, and how many have signs in the windows "Room for Rent." Definitely a college town.
Went to the Brew Pub after parking in a parking garage just across the street (on level 2B - take the elevator down). People were out walking everywhere (the Mongolian Grille had a line out on to the sidewalk). Very cool building, probably built in the 20's, brick walls, 20 foot tinned ceilings, murals painted on interior walls, etc.
Everywhere were interesting looking people, old, young, berets, head scarves, and all probably fermenting revolution or whatever college students do... Okay, so now I'm showing my age. That would have been back in the day... Now days, they are probably just wondering if Mom and Dad will agree to increase the credit limit on their MasterCard so they can do more shopping!
(God, I am getting so cynical!) Anyway, I digress...
Great place, neat people-watching, good food and drink, perfect CD and its always fun to spend time with those two.
