PDA

I have been a little jealous of my friend's new PDA, especially the reminder function. I was thinking it was a shame that my Microsoft Outlook doesn't have a calendar function (like the email system at work does). Because, if it did, I could set it up to remind me when bills are due, people's birthdays are coming and so on.

Then, it dawned on me: Yahoo Mail! So, I entered all my bills and due dates along with the birthday information that I keep on my wall calendar in the kitchen. It was quite simple, as you can tell it to repeat things every month (like bills) or every year (like birthdays).

I set it to remind me 10 days then 5 days before date due of bills I have to mail (not too many these days). I set it to remind me 5 days then 1 day before the due date of bills I pay on line. And, finally, 10 days then 5 days before everyone's birthday, so I can mail cards out.

Bingo! I call it "the poor man's PDA"
