Watched two fascinating shows last night. First was "Ryan" which won the Sundance award for animated short. It was about Ryan _____ (I forgot) who was an animator back in the '60's and won an Academy Award for his animated short "Walking." Then the show "Alter Egos" which was about the past and current life of Ryan _____ who went from a Wonderkid animator to being a panhandler in Toronto.
Yes, it was a bit depressing, but what was fascinating was the difference between Ryan's work (original animation - drawing literally thousands of pictures to achieve motion) and the animation in "Ryan" which is Rotoscope (computer animation - you know, Lord of the Rings, wait, best example on TV now are the Charles Schwab commercials).
Anyway, it is on both Comcast and Brighthouse under free movies in On Demand if you're interested. Or ask me, I recorded it.
