Jake and Carla stopped in after work last night. Hmmm... this has been a nice tradition. I wonder if it will change when they break up Spacely Sprockets IT and move us all hither and yon. I'm supposed to go to Building 47 and Jake's slated for Building 3. Does this mean no more Friday nights? I hope not, but if it does, it sure was fun while it lasted, guys!
Anyhow, we has the usual discussion about dinner. This time, Jake took charge, declaring he was making perogies. Sounded good, but I had very little sour cream left (grocery shopping is tomorrow). Undaunted, he scrounged through my fridge and found ingredients to make a sauce for them. Since we were all talking, I didn't check out the herbs or spices he used, but I know he sauteed a valadia onion, sliced Portobello mushrooms and added vermouth, then reduced it.
Might sound a little weird, but it tasted great!
