Started the morning cleaning house and doing laundry. Carla called and asked if I would like company for some grilling at 3:00 PM, so I said sure!
Ran some errands and then got back home. Weeded one of the mulched beds (they all need it). Watered all the container plants with Miracle Grow and dead-headed them. Then got out the hedge trimmers (bushes in front are getting a might shaggy). Just finished up the first bush when Jake and Carla came in.
Fired up the grill. Jake grilled three beautifully marbled rib eye steaks (we all decided that marinade on these beauties would just be superfluous) that he served with a blue cheese and shallot compound butter. A hashbrown and cheese casserole and some onion and bacon baked beans were the sides. And Carla made snow crab legs with clarified butter and marinated shrimp that Jake also grilled. A store-bought apple pie was dessert.
We feasted like kings!!!
They took pity on me and left without beating me in cards...
Sounds tasty. I had scones and tea.
ReplyDeleteI am getting so very tired of scones.
Cheers!
Note to Jeremy:
ReplyDeleteOkay, we know you are fascinated with scones...
It's time to move on...
