Friday night, I got off work a little early (meeting at Building 50, right by my house). So, I stopped at Farmer Jacks to pick up some eggs and mushrooms. They had hardy mums for just $5.99! Great price for mums around here. So, since (as Lu predicted) the pansies died with the hot weather, I picked up one to replant the mailbox garden.
Dug out the dead/dying pansies and planted the mum. Does anyone know if I should deadhead a mum? I'd like it to flower into the Fall. Please comment if you know the answer.
Took before and after pictures of the mail box garden.
Posted those pictures, and the final pictures of the doors and the newest (sigh) color. Not worth mentioning, but my arm has been killing me all day (I'm guessing from painting - yet again - yesterday).

'Tis but an hour ago since it was nine,
And after one hour more 'twill be eleven;
And so, from hour to hour, we ripe and ripe,
And then, from hour to hour, we rot and rot;
And thereby hangs a tale.'
