to Sadie's daughter, Stacey and her husband, James on the birth of their daughter, Rachel Elizabeth, at 2:35 PM today. Rachel weighed 8 pounds and 9 ounces, and mother and daughter are doing fine (no word on how the father, James is doing).
In this new-age, new world order, she's kinda my granddaughter (kinda-sorta), so, as Grandpa, Papa John, I have one piece of advice for her Mom and Dad: Teach her sign language, quick! (See Blog entry of 11/1/06) The Terrible-Two's are NOT that far way!!!

I have this pleasant daydream of my rebellious teenagers furiously signing at me and casting dark looks. A silent radical. All I would have to do is look away. That, my friends, would be a great use of sign language.
