Carla called me Friday and suggested her and Jake coming over and making tacos for dinner. I haven't seen her since Thanksgiving, so I said, "Great!" Since my normal lunch partner was on vacation, I went to Farmer Jack's at lunch and picked up some refried beans.
When I got home, they were already here and working on the food (Jake had taken the day off, too). But, they had changed the menu completely! Now it was high-end snacks: Pissaladiere, Brie, a French Baguette, Jumbo Shrimp Wrapped with Arugula and Prosciutto and a Blue Cheese with Bacon and Chives spread!!!
So, we snacked and played Clue into the night. When it got late, we agreed they should spend the night here, rather than drive home. So, they did.
I made pancakes and bacon for breakfast and we ate it watching Food Network shows. They left for home around noon. I started some laundry and general house cleaning. For dinner I made the refried beans, but spicy (I'm supposed to bring refried beans to the department Christmas party, so wanted to try the recipe first). Tasted great, but a little too spicy. So, I'll cut back on the spices and peppers when I make it for everybody. I spent the night watching TV and eating leftover snacks. Great!
