Monday

Bitter cold today with a wicked wind... Snow started around 3:00 PM. We probably got an inch on the ground. Slippery driving home and then I had to stop at Farmer Jack's. Why? I forgot to get a tomato and wanted to make BLT's for dinner.

Wrapped a couple of Christmas presents, then made dinner. Watched TV and read until bedtime.

Got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and was surprised at how light it was outside, until I realized it was just the white snow.

  1. Hey, your weather there is like spring for us here! We're still recovering from last week - over a foot of snow and bone chilling -34C with a windchill of below -40... Brrrr This week it's warmed up to about -10C so we've put our gloves away for a bit. It's totally a "perspective" thing... Keep warm!

  2. Only Canadians would want to live under conditions like that! Well, and some US folks in Alaska, but I've always secretly believed that Alaskans are just people Canada wouldn't let in...

You guys stay warm, too, and keep those block heaters plugged in!

  3. Oh, and just so all of us American know, here's the conversion of Canadian Gal's Celsius temps:

    -34 degrees C = -29.2 degrees F
    -40 degrees C = (oddly enough) -40 degrees F

    and her balmy -10 degrees C = 14 degrees F

    That's cold, man!

Why do you think Albertans are always smiling? Likely because our faces are frozen that way, hee hee!!

  5. Bitter cold today with a wicked wind...

Had car problems and ended up walking for an hour, wind whipping off the lake and icing my veins.

Seeing that I am a hop-and-skip away from Sarnia, I am in touch with my inner Canadian. It is a good thing, too, for on that day I smiled a frosty smile and trudged on.
