Tuesday Night

I picked up a 2 foot x 2 foot piece of 1/2 inch drywall at lunch, along with some drywall supplies. On the way home, I stopped and picked up the last three bags of mulch I needed and some more basil and Rosemary to replaced dead plants.

I got home, changed clothes and started the laundry. It was very hot today (80 F. or 27 C.) so the grass clippings (actually clumps of grass) had dried out some. I got out my blower and tried to blow them down the side lawn (where I'd reseeded) to help retain the moisture for the new seed.

While I was doing that, I noticed there are actually spots in the front lawn that were "scalped" so, I put down seed there and covered them with clippings as well. As I was doing that, the neighbor lady who cut my grass drove up and, with tears in her eyes, began to apologize profusely. She said the trimmer had run out of string, she couldn't get the blower to start and when she told her husband how bad it looked, he said, "You did raise the deck height, didn't you?" She said to me, "I swear, he never told me to do that!" I told her not to worry about it. Once she starts cutting it every week (and, with the deck raised) it will be okay. (yeah, right - maybe in a year or two)

After she left, I dragged the hose to the front, watered the spots I reseeded and the flower beds, and then worked my way around to the back, watering as I went. I planted the replacement herbs and watered those beds; trimmed a few ferns in St. Francis' garden so I could see him and finally carried buckets of water to the back to water the two tomato plants and the two new roses.

I got in the house at 7:55 PM and reheated the pasta and sausage from yesterday. I watched TV until 9:00 PM, then shut it off and read until bedtime.
