And now its Thursday...

Again, I raced home (in spite of the semis on I-96) and by 5:30, I had changed clothes and examined the paint job from yesterday on the cabinet faces. I decided, (need I tell you) with much angst, I will have to do a second coat.

Why? Three reasons. One was because here and there, in the now natural light, the paint looks uneven (lighter or darker in spots). The second was the fact I had read an article in Better Homes and Gardens that said one coat of paint is as thin as a piece of tissue paper. I need something that will hold up a few years (at least until I die). The last is that I keep telling myself that I have spent a lot of money on this and, no matter how long it takes, I'll be damned if it looks cheesy when I'm done! As I've said, I didn't plan on it taking this long, but my house is a wreck, has been a wreck and it can stay a wreck a little longer if it means it looks great when I'm done.

Taped off all the cabinets (again) and at 7:03 PM, began painting. It's much easier this time, BTW. All the tricky cutting in is done, and I'm just revisiting old ground.

I finished everything by 9:00 PM. Even though its dark, I still need to water all the container gardens. So, started filling up the watering can and taking trips out to the front. After that, I warmed up some bean soup I'd made and froze back in January (still tasted good!). I'm dead tired, so I just went to bed.
