Raced home, changed clothes and by 5:40 PM I was painting the rest of the cabinet faces. I used the same procedure as yesterday, cutting in, rolling with the 3-inch foam roller and then pulling off the masking tape as time permits. The phone rang several times, but I couldn't stop. I didn't want to lose the wet edge (and at my age, you got a wet edge, you go for it! LOL!) At 8:35 PM, all the cabinet faces have gotten one coat. I will have to wait until tomorrow when it's dry to see if it needs two (I hope not!)
Checked the caller id after cleaning up. One call was from my daughter, Melissa, but, when I listened to the voicemail, she just had words of encouragement and an understanding why I didn't answer the phone (thanks, Babe! I will call you back!)
Also, I forgot to mention, when I got home, THE GRASS WAS CUT!!!
Heated up a Marie Callender's chicken pot pie in the microwave for dinner (a little pricey, but the only one I've found that is big enough for a meal, tastes great and browns in the microwave.) I ate it while watching the Military Channel on cable to see if I could find a D-Day show. But, if one was on, it was earlier than 9:00 PM.
The forecasted weather and temperature tonight is such that I thought it would be okay to leave the kitchen window opened a bit, because I am SICK of smelling latex paint drying!
Went to bed at 10:00 PM, but woke up at midnight (third night in a row) and thought I might as well post this while I'm waiting for Morpheus to call me.
Morpheus? You getting a little above your raisin' here, Captain!
ReplyDeleteNo, Morpheus is the name of a fictional character in the science fiction films, The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions. Why he would visit the Captain is a mystery...
ReplyDeleteActually, you are all wrong! Morpheus is a software program developed and distributed by the company StreamCast.
ReplyDeleteGlad I read this. I wasn't sure either but just assumed it was some kind of treatment for erectile dysfunction.
ReplyDelete"Ask your doctor about Morpheus today."
Please! The Morpheus I was referring to is the Greek god of dreams, not a movie character, computer software or (gulp) erectile dysfunction! In fact, morphine (which I love and does give you weird dreams) was named after him.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Anonymous Coward, what made you go with erectile dysfunction, anyway? Did somebody say something about the Captain? What did you hear?
Nothing in particular. Could have just as easily been blood pressure or any other ailment commonly found in the elderly.
ReplyDeleteOuch! That hurts!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat? Oh no! It wasn't your hip, was it?
