I had to stop at Home Depot for "stuff" and CVS for two prescriptions on the way home. As is my usual practice, I don't even try to get back on Inkster and turn at the light (too many cars), I cut across the old (now vacant, "sniff") Farmer Jack parking lot, go through the car wash and get out on Plymouth Road, then immediately turn on San Jose. When I did that, I noticed that somebody had cut the sh*t out of the trees back there. Then I remembered a notice I'd gotten in the mail a few days ago about DTE trimming trees in my area that interfered with their power lines.
So, when I got home, I didn't change clothes, just walked out back to see if there was any impact on my trees. They didn't touch them (Thank God) then again, my trees don't touch the power lines. But the vacant lot next to me was all tore up. These were NOT tree surgeons, more like Freddy Krueger tree mutilators!
Since I was outside anyway, I refilled the bird feeder, the suet cage and the bird bath. I came back inside, changed clothes and got to work on the sink. I finally figured out what the major problem with these screws/clips is: At the distance my face and the sink is at under the sink, it is just between my normal vision and my bifocals, so identifying the location of that little slot is next to impossible! But, by 6:55 PM, the sink was out and I was removing that stupid old faucet that had caused me such grief, but now was just putty in my hands.
Speaking of putty, I don't like the smell of plumber's putty. But, I need to use it so I soldiered on. At 8:03 PM, the new faucet, with new flexible water lines attached, was attached to the sink, with (hopefully) the Teflon tape and the plumber's putty ensuring there will be no leaking. I quit at that point (enough for one night!)
Warmed up a Marie Callender's chicken pot pie in the microwave (yeah, they're pricey, but you really should try them just once. If you, like me, grew up with those little, tasteless Banquet pot pies, you will be amazed. And, it's less than 10 minutes in the microwave for a perfect pie with a flaky crust!) I made a small salad (just iceberg lettuce and scallions with balsamic vinaigrette dressing) to go with it and went in to watch the Friday night fights.
