Hey, let's hear it from the audience. How many of you have tasted elderberries? I was working on the sink when Elton John's song "Elderberry Wine" came on the radio. We had a big clump of them on the farm where I grew up and I loved them. If you never tasted them, you really missed out on something!
I have never tasted elderberries. Aside from possibly being mentioned on the Smurfs my only knowledge of them comes from The Sims where they were a required ingredient in some of the spells.

I've never seen them on sale anywhere. I think Smucker's still makes elderberry jam or jelly.
ReplyDeleteThey are real small (about half the size of a pea) and grow in clumps at the end of each branch, so you would stick a clump in your mouth and gently pull out the stems. I posted a picture to give you an idea of what I mean
